PRIVACY // OFFLINE TRANSITION
hackSociety Privacy Policy
The current hackSociety mobile application operates entirely offline and does not collect, transmit, share, or sell user data.
Effective and last updated: August 14, 2026
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the offline hackSociety mobile application published by 1234 abcd LLC on Google Play and the Apple App Store. It describes the interim release displayed while hackSociety is rebuilt as a single-player game.
2. Data collected by the current app
None. The current application:
- does not create accounts or provide account login;
- does not request Internet, advertising, notification, camera, location, or billing permissions;
- does not contain analytics, advertising, tracking, crash-reporting, purchase, or social SDKs;
- does not transmit information to hackSociety or any third party; and
- does not sell or share personal information.
3. Information stored on your device
The app displays a locally bundled transition notice. On first launch it may remove cookies, cached website content, and preferences left by older online versions of hackSociety. This cleanup happens on your device and is not reported or transmitted anywhere.
4. Historical online account records
The former hackSociety online MMO collected account and gameplay information under an earlier privacy policy. Restricted backups of those historical records are retained offline for security, legal compliance, and a possible user-authorized progress transfer into the future single-player game.
The current mobile app cannot access those backups. Historical records are not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
5. Legacy data requests
The current app does not create an online account. If you previously had a hackSociety MMO account, you may request access to or deletion of its historical record by emailing captainmartian@proton.me.
Include the former account username and email address needed to locate the record. Do not send a password, payment-card number, receipt, government identifier, or other sensitive credential. We may request reasonable proof that the account belongs to you. Some limited records may be retained where required for fraud prevention, security, disputes, or legal compliance.
6. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Hosting of this policy
This public policy page is hosted through Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process ordinary web-request information, such as an IP address and browser metadata, to deliver and secure the page. That hosting activity is separate from the offline hackSociety app.
8. Future changes
This policy will be updated before a future version introduces network access, account import, analytics, purchases, or any other data collection. The updated date at the top will identify the latest version.
